"Proud to be Pelican"

An amalgamation between Pelican FC and Bilborough FC in 2005 forged an outfit fit enough to challenge for major honours in the Central Midlands League. Since forming in 1984, Pelican became one of the strongest Amateur sides in the county winning silverware in the Notts Amateur League and twice winning the Notts Alliance Senior Division (in 1995 and 2002) After joining the CML with similar success the side merged with NAA outfit Bilborough (established since 1994) with a view to improving their Birchover Park ground and forging their way up the non league Pyramid. With proposed re-development hitting a stand-still however. The side faced eviction from the CML and joined the NSL in 2007.In 2009 the senior side won the NSL Senior Division title and the colts won numerous awards yet again. For the 2010-11 season the club have made sweeping changes to its set up after dissapointingly finishing fifth last season. Between the Bilborough FC, Pelican FC, Bilborough Pelican FC and Pelican Colts clubs, we have collectively won over 100 trophies since the early 90's. This makes the club one of the most succesfull units ever in the history of Nottinghamshire football. A unit which has born dozens of successfull players plying their trade professionally at the top levels.
For the 2010-11 season Bilborough Pelican FC have made some sweeping changes to their football managment set up, in a big effort to push both the football they play and the way that the club is percieved forward. Local UEFA B coach Pete Bell has come on board to both educate and coach our players and coaches and to run the feed from the 2nd team through to the first. Last years first team manager Glenn Russell has now moved upstairs in order to manage the day to day running of the club. Last years assistant manager Tony Brindley (formerly of Dunkirk), and former 2nd team manager Shaun Deabill, have now both taken over the managment of the first team as a joint team. The overall plan is to ensure that all of our football managers and coaches are working towards an FA coaching qualification over the coming months.
Changes which will hopefully over time improve our club from the bottom up and make it a welcome and pleasurable experience for all those NSL teams who visit us in future seasons.
